2029年，一个人类实验体从某个研究设施中逃走了。
实验体的代号为“スクルージ”。他是个强化染色体能力者的失败作。
凭借自己所获得的能力，在不断击败来追杀自己的人的同时，スクルージ继续着亡命生活。
而在这逃亡过程中，他邂逅了带着不可思议的神秘气息的实验体少女・キャロル。
但是同时，新的追杀者也向スクルージ逼近了。
来者，是和スクルージ在同一研究设施中的实验体，有着同样特殊能力的三名“幽灵”。
スクルージ陷入了走投无路的绝境，然而在此时，キャロル却向他的右手伸出手去。

Takes place during the "Lost Christmas" incident, ten years before the setting for the Guilty Crown anime. In 2029, an experimental subject codenamed ‘Scrooge’ escaped from a certain research facility. He was a powered up version of a past failed work and used the ‘powers’ which he was given to eliminate those that were chasing after him. During his escape, he met a strange girl named Carol who was also an experimental subject. Surrounded by his pursuers, the three 'ghosts' Present, Past and Yet to Come, Carol told him to ‘use her until she’s about to break’ and took his right hand and thrust it into her chest. There was a bright light and a strange weapon came out of her body. What hidden power lies within Scrooge’s right hand?

The protagonist. His body had received many certain experiments on humans in research facilities. "Scrooge" is his code name, while his real name is unknown. Escaped from the facility, and continues to live as a fugitive. He is a "failed product" of the research facility's attempts to produce the Void Genome. Instead of being able to draw out a weapon based on a person's heart, any person Scrooge touches with his right hand is instantly crystallized by the Apocalypse Cancer. The only person who is unaffected by his right hand's power is Carol, and she is the only person Scrooge is able to draw a Void out of.

A beautiful girl with a strange mood. Scrooge's partner, having escaped with him from the facility. She is also deemed by the research facility as a "failed product". Carol is the only one who is resistant to the crystallization effect of Scrooge's right hand; however, her Void does not have a definite form, and takes a different shape each time Scrooge draws it out.

Present is a mysterious person whose fate is intertwined with Scrooge and Carol. Present's gender is unknown, but it has a beautiful and sleek appearance. Present's abilities include further manipulation of the effects of the Apocalypse Virus. Present is able to also crystallize many people over a certain radius, and can freely manipulate the Apocalypse Crystal Matter.

He is an Endlave pilot whose entire identity is concealed within his specially customized unit. His Endlave was not built for mass production, but has been modified heavily and given stronger destructive power, and is considered overkill for any practical military operation.

Its body already had cancer when it was assigned to operate the Endlaves Kestner, Fleischmann, Recknagel, and Eden Bebe. The latter, Eden Bebe, was assimilated with Past's spirit after it finally lost the body to the apocalypse cancer./
Past's identity is the biological mother of Mana and Shuu. Despite that by now she is nothing but a spirit (literally), she has preserved the intention to protect her children. She aims to find the source of Mana in the Lost Christmas by prowling Scrooge until he reaches it./
