She is usually very polite, but because she is still young she sometimes has difficulty with grammar.

However, behind her innocent exterior lies a personality that loves setting traps for other people. You could call her a trickster. She tries her utmost to snare Keiichi, but she has only limited success.

Although the result of failure is easily imaginable, Satoko doesn't like to lose, and she doesn't learn from experience. That is why she keeps confronting him, with all due consequences.

Even when she realizes her skills are insufficient, her smile never wavers.

Rika is a grade lower than Keiichi, and thus is a classmate of Satoko's.

She is very quiet and reserved for her age, which makes her almost the polar opposite of Satoko. However, the two of them can often be found in each other's company.

Whenever Satoko is in tears after losing against Keiichi, it is Rika who cheers her up. When Satoko wins, Rika comforts Keiichi instead. When Keiichi teases Rena, Rika comforts her.

In fact, Rika comforts whomever is in need of comfort.

She seems happy with it.

Oryō is the true power in Hinamizawa, although for appearances sake the Kimiyoshi family have been the town heads for generations. Politicians, political groups, even the child protective services group, look to her for direction and approval. She was forced to disinherit her daughter after she married outside the family, but is currently raising her granddaughter to inherit her position as head after her eventual death.

During the Dam War she was the head of the resistance, and it was her anger at the behavior the head of the Hōjō family showed, especially the disrespect he showed her, that fueled the town's negative attitude toward that family. However, despite the belief of some of the local people, neither she nor her family had anything to do with the deaths that have occurred each Watanagashi, or even the kidnapping of the Minister of Construction's grandson during the war. All these acts were committed by others, but because of their power the family and Oryō in particular, has been seen as the ones at fault./

Ōishi will stop at nothing to solve the serial murders, and believes the entire village to be in on it, with the Sonozaki family at the center. Due to this, he is hated by most of the village, particularly Mion, who firmly believes in her family's innocence.

Even though Ōishi suspects the entire village as the culprits, ironically, the villagers themselves suspect that he could be the culprit, even going as far as calling him "Oyashiro-sama's messenger". This is due to fact that Ōishi happened to come in contact with each of the victims of the curse shortly before their deaths, leading the villagers to believe that he chose them./

He visits Hinamizawa about three times every year and is known by the villagers. Tomitake also seems to know a lot about the village and its history, although this may be in part due to his relationship with his girlfriend Takano Miyo, who has a deep interest in the subject.

It is unclear whether "Tomitake Jirō" is his real name, or simply an alias to complement his false image of a harmless photographer (as suspected by Furude Rika in Minagoroshi-hen). In the first game, Onikakushi-hen, the Investigation Memo TIP notes that "Tomitake Jirō" is only his pen-name./

Takano Miyo is a nurse in a Irie's clinic. She was one of the victims of the curse in 1983 and according to the police was found to have been burned to death in a canister in the mountains. However, the autopsy later revealed that she had died twenty-four hours before the Watanagashi Festival had even occurred.

Later it is revealed that her death, in each case, was faked to throw off suspicion and allow her to act more freely on her true plans. The reasons behind her actions are revealed in 'Kai' as it delves into her past.

She was born Tanashi Miyoko, but her parents died in an unfortunate train accident when she was quite young, so the government had her sent to an orphanage.

She and other children were abused repeatedly there, and eventually try to escape. They are pursued, largely because the orphanage gets government money based on the number of children they house. One of the larger staff members catches her, but she escapes his powerful hold by biting his thumb. She evades capture long enough to call Takano Hifumi's (her father's former professor) number for help as her father had instructed some time before his death. She is re-captured, and sees that her fellow comrads were also captured and are being tortured tremendously.

She is eventually rescued and adopted by Hifumi. Hifumi becomes a sort of grandfather for her, and she cares deeply for him. He was the one who started Miyo on the path of medicine with his study of Hinamizawa Syndrome.

When Hifumi died, having been humiliated and discredited by his superiors, Miyo decided to carry on his studies in order to prove his theories, and, in doing so, was perfectly content to make the entire village go mad with paranoia by killing the Queen Carrier, and then ordering the annihilation of the villagers as well. She is literally obsessed with proving the theories Hifumi spent his life on and making a name for both of them.

She has control over an elite squad of soldiers called the Yamainu, provided to her by the "Tokyo group", who carry out much of her dirty work, although she does not hesitate to do some of it herself. In many cases she has been personally responsible for the death of the Queen Carrier and of her lover, Tomitake Jirō./

Akira is a silent, refined boy who attends the same school as Kimiyoshi Natsumi in Kakiuchi city. He's usually seen wearing a serious expression and only talk when it's necessary or when asked. Despite being serious, he's often shown to smile around Natsumi.

Akira is the childhood friend of Saeki Chisato and Makimura Tamako. Even though their backstories were never explained, it is shown that the bond between Akira and the two girls is very strong. Despite attending a different class from Chisato and Tamako, he often meets up with them with school, especially when something serious happens concerning Natsumi.

Kameda Yukikazu is a very talented baseball player who was first mentioned in Onikakushi-hen, and appears for the first time in Tatarigoroshi-hen. Keiichi who uncovered his perverted side (comparing girls with cute desserts) advised him to confront it. After this, Keiichi becomes his idol and friend.

He used to be a player of the Okinomiya Titans baseball team, but later he became a Koshien player for Ōshima High School. In Minagoroshi-hen, he helped to save Satoko from her uncle with all of his comrades from Angel Mort.
